Dear Members, I am blessed to lead this august association, ASSOCIATION OF CUTANEOUS SURGEONS OF (INDIA), which is the second largest professional body of Dermatologists in India. Procedural dermatology encompassing Dermato-surgery, LASERs, Aesthetic Dermatology, and Hair transplantation has always been my passion. Dermatology has grown leaps and bounds in the past two decades, courtesy, dermatologists across the globe took to procedural dermatology to unchartered territories. Professional associations like ACS(I) and many such associations across the world have played an important role in the development of Specialty. The main objective of the association is to impart knowledge to its members by organizing conferences, CMEs, workshops, formulating guidelines, protocols, research, publications and continue to grow with newer innovations and technologies. Dermato-surgery & Aesthetic Dermatology have been growing by leaps and bounds as seen by the increase in number of Dermato-surgery and Cosmetic/Aesthetic Dermatology Fellowships. Dermato-surgery is not just for aesthetic purposes alone but also is a therapeutic and curative treatment modality for many conditions. The field of Aesthetics has been plagued by quackery, by unethical practices from all kinds of unqualified non-professionals. We need to hone our skills better, practice ethically and safeguard our turf diligently from the menace of quackery. ACS(I) would work towards fulfilling all these objectives. We would also work towards reaching out dermato-surgery to unreached areas & and create interest in the Post graduate residents and young Dermatologists by helping them to hone their skills through Fellowships, Observer ships, Mentorship programs and by organizing hands-on training. The past ECs and my predecessors have taken ACS(I) to tremendous heights and I am hopeful that me and my team will strive our best to take ACS(I) to much further glory. In a short span ACS(I) has a text book of its own and a indexed journal. We solicit your opinion; do feel to write to us your suggestions and feedback. We shall work together and give back something to our professional colleagues and to the society at large. Coming together is the beginning, Keeping together is progress, Working together is SUCCESS
